What is this?
We invite you to join Dr. John A. Straayer to meet with the South Larimer Discussion Group on two Colorado Constitution Amendments: Tabor and Gallagher.
John A. Straayer, Professor Emeritus, Political Science, Colorado State University will lead the
informal discussion: “Tabor and Gallagher Amendments - the basics”
How they came about.
What they are.
Impact on, taxes, public funding, and revenue generation for state and local
communities.
What might be done to “fix it”?
Professor Straayer received his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and joined the Colorado
State University faculty in 1967, retiring in May, 2018. He chaired the Political Science
Department from 1972 to 1987 and supervised the department’s legislative internship program
for nearly 40 years, guiding over 1,000 students through the program.
John’s scholarly and instructional interests are in legislative politics and Colorado politics. The
most notable of his many books is The Colorado General Assembly. Among his many awards
are the Pennock University Distinguished Service Award, Liberal Arts John N. Stern
Distinguished Professor Award, Alumni Association Distinguished Faculty Award, and
Commendations for Distinguished Service from the Colorado General Assembly.
We much appreciate Dr. Straayer’s time and commitment to this critical issue. Please welcome Dr. Straayer and join us!
