What is this?
International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
In N. CO the event is hosted by chapters of Dining for Women and includes a national Webinar at 2:30 PM sharing how women all over the world are fighting for environmental justice in their own countries and communities.
Featured speakers: Dr. Tererai Trent, scholar, humanitarian, motivational speaker, educator, author, and the founder of Tererai Trent International, which aims to provide quality education in rural Africa. Her new book is The Awakened Woman: Remembering & Reigniting Our Sacred Dreams.
Dr. Laly Lichtenfeld, Co-Founder and CEO of African People & Wildlife, a nonprofit that helps rural communities in Tanzania conserve and benefit from their wildlife and natural resources.
