In order for a democracy to succeed, the citizens must be knowledgeable and involved.

To find the facts, to study them, and to use them in politics and government have been the historic goals of the League of Women Voters since its founding in 1920.  The same goals have prompted the League of Women Voters of Larimer County to prepare this guide for the citizens of Larimer County, so that they may have the means for involvement and prompt action within the framework of our present system.  Included is nonpartisan information related to voting, schools, courts, and all levels of government affecting county residents.  This booklet directs citizens to other informative sources as well as to specific agencies and officials.

"Facts for Citizen Action" is a handbook compiled by the League of Women Voters of Larimer County, Colorado and updated after elections.

All information is current as of February 25, 2009. For changes occurring after this date, please contact the information number at the appropriate state, county, or local office. Funding of this 2009 booklet was made possible by the League of Women Voters of Colorado Education Fund through grants from:

    Agilent Technologies
Housing Authority of the City of Loveland
    Larimer County

and through donations by sponsors and individual members of the League of Women Voters.
